3 weeks in Seychelles: Epic 20-21 day Itinerary (First Time Visit)

Planning to spend 3 weeks in Seychelles?

Great idea!

With 21 days there, you’ll have plenty of time to truly enjoy the archipelago and discover its main islands without rushing. This longer trip will let you alternate between paradise beaches, hikes, snorkeling and boat trips to wild little islands.

In this guide, I’m sharing a complete 3-week Seychelles itinerary combining the must-sees of Mahé, Praslin and La Digue, as well as a beautiful escape to the preserved island of Silhouette.

It’s the perfect route if you want to enjoy both the iconic landscapes and the more secret corners of Seychelles, while fully embracing the peaceful island rhythm.

Ready to go island hopping? Here is my perfect itinerary to visit Seychelles in 3 weeks!

Sommaire

3 Weeks in Seychelles – Step 1: Mahé (5 Days)

Welcome to Seychelles! Your trip starts on Mahé Island, the largest island in the archipelago and the main gateway to the country. This is where the international airport and the capital, Victoria, are located.

Day 1: Arrival in Mahé, Visit Victoria + Beau Vallon Beach

After picking up your luggage and your rental car — the easiest way to explore at your own pace — head to your accommodation to drop off your bags.

For this first day, I suggest a relaxed walk around Victoria, one of the smallest capitals in the world.

Wander through the colorful streets, admire the Clock Tower, the Arul Mihu Navasakthi Vinayagar Hindu Temple, and don’t miss the Sir Selwyn Selwyn-Clarke Market, which is especially lively in the morning.

There are a few more things to see in Victoria:

  • the St. Paul’s Cathedral, the oldest Anglican church in Seychelles
  • the Cathedral of Our Lady of Immaculate Conception, the largest Catholic church in the country
  • the Botanical Gardens

My TipFor lunch, if you want to eat like the locals, head to the market or to Revolution Avenue, a great spot for local street food.

In the late afternoon, make your way to Beau Vallon, the most famous beach on Mahé. It’s about a 15-minute drive away, and it’s one of the most beautiful beaches in Seychelles!

Its huge bay lined with coconut trees is the perfect place for your first swim in the turquoise lagoon.

You can also watch the sunset — magical from this spot — and why not end your first day with a dinner with your feet in the sand at one of the small seaside restaurants. Honestly, what could be better? 🤩

Then head back to your accommodation for the night.

Beau Vallon beach Mahé Seychelles

Day 2: Anse Major and Anse Intendance Beaches

For your second day in Mahé, head in the morning to another iconic beach on the island: Anse Major, located in the northwest.

To get there, you need to follow the Bel Ombre trail, which starts about 3 km from Beau Vallon Beach.

You can park your car, then follow the path marked by the “Anse Major Trail” sign.

Please note: the trail entrance is paid, around 150 rupees per person, or about €9.

Allow around 45 minutes of easy walking to reach Anse Major Beach, with plenty of beautiful ocean views along the way.

Anse Major is tucked into a small, peaceful cove. A great idea is to bring a picnic and have lunch on the sand 🙂 Otherwise, you’ll also find a beach restaurant there, Sirène.

Then you’ll need to walk back, which also takes around 45 minutes.

If you still have time and energy in the afternoon, you can:

  • visit the Victoria Botanical Gardens, if you didn’t do it the day before
  • or head south to discover 2 other stunning beaches: Anse Intendance and Petite Anse, about 1 hour by car from Beau Vallon.

My TipYou can also choose a more in-depth guided hike to Anse Major, to discover secret spots unknown to most tourists and observe local wildlife.

For this, you’ll need an experienced local guide. It’s a wonderful excursion, and you should plan a good half day for it.

Book your guided hike to Anse Major directly by clicking the button below:

Day 3: Trois Frères Nature Trail

Let’s continue this 3-week Seychelles itinerary with a little hike!

The Trois Frères Nature Trail is a beautiful walk to do on Mahé. It’s short, about 1.5 hours round trip, and not difficult.

Located in Morne Seychellois National Park, this trail takes you into the heart of the tropical forest before opening onto a spectacular panorama over Victoria, the airport and the surrounding islands.

The trailhead is located about 2 km from Victoria city center.

To find it, follow Sans Souci Road, which links Victoria to Port Glaud, then stop at the Sans Souci Forestry Station.

Then take the small secondary road that climbs the hill. After passing through a small residential area, you’ll reach a dead end used as a parking area: this is where the hike begins.

The climb is a little steep at first, but the trail is well marked and shaded.

Along the way, you’ll be surrounded by lush vegetation: giant ferns, orchids, endemic palms… and with a bit of luck, you might hear the call of the Seychelles bulbul, an iconic island bird often found in this area.

At the top, the view is breathtaking: Victoria below, Sainte Anne Bay in the distance, and the Seychelles islets floating on the horizon.

You can do this hike on your own, but if you want to learn more about the local flora and fauna, I recommend taking a guide. It really adds another dimension to the experience.

Simply click below to book your guided Trois Frères hike:

My TipPlan to leave early in the morning to avoid the heat. If you’d like, bring a picnic for a wonderful lunch with a view before heading back down.

To continue with a relaxing afternoon, I suggest settling down on Anse Royale Beach, about 40 minutes away by car.

This beach really lives up to its name: with its translucent water, huge rocks and pristine white sand, it’s, in my opinion, one of the most beautiful beaches in Seychelles!

Planning a trip to Seychelles soon?Don’t hesitate to read my other guides to help you plan your trip:

Day 4: Baie Ternay Marine Park

Let’s continue this 21-day Seychelles itinerary with a day at sea, heading to Baie Ternay Marine Park.

Located in the northwest of Mahé, this natural treasure is only accessible by boat through organized excursions. It’s a protected site and a real paradise for snorkeling and diving.

I recommend the full-day excursion organized by Creole Travel Service. I did it myself and loved the friendly atmosphere, the kindness of the crew and the excellent organization.

You’ll board in the morning for a full day at sea, usually from 10 am to 4 pm, heading toward an incredibly clear lagoon filled with fish, coral reefs, and where it’s not unusual to spot sea turtles.

On the program:

  • discovering the local flora and fauna
  • several snorkeling stops in the most beautiful spots
  • a barbecue meal served on the boat
  • stops at the most beautiful beaches in the bay

This trip should be booked directly by clicking below. It’s very popular and places are limited, so I recommend booking as early as possible!

Day 5: Morne Blanc Hike

If you enjoy hiking, don’t miss the Morne Blanc hike, one of the most spectacular trails on Mahé.

Located in Morne Seychellois National Park, this trail offers total immersion in the tropical forest and a breathtaking view over the west coast of the island.

It’s a great way to end your stay on Mahé 🙂

The trailhead is located along Sans Souci Road, about 5 km after the Takamaka Rum distillery. The trail is well marked with a park sign.

Bring good shoes, water and a bit of courage: the climb is physical from the start, with around 250 m of elevation gain over 1.5 km. Allow 1 to 1.5 hours round trip, depending on your pace.

The path winds through a dense forest of ferns and endemic palms, where the humidity and birdsong create a rather mystical atmosphere 🙂

At the top, you’ll reach a wooden platform suspended above the vegetation, offering a spectacular view over Mahé’s west coast: Anse Boileau, Port Glaud and Baie Ternay.

After the descent, treat yourself to a well-deserved break at Port Launay, about 15 minutes away by car, for a refreshing swim in the lagoon.

My TipHere again, I recommend taking a guide for the Morne Blanc hike, especially if it’s your first time.

The best option is to do it at sunset, for the most beautiful view from the top. This is what Cliff and Coast Adventures Seychelles offers, and you should book your spot in advance.

3-Week Seychelles Itinerary – Step 2: Praslin (5 Days)

After your 5 days on Mahé, it’s time to continue your trip to Praslin, the second must-see island in Seychelles.

To get there, you can choose between the ferry, with a 1-hour crossing, or the plane, a short 15-minute flight.

In Praslin, you’ll find everything that makes Seychelles so magical: stunning beaches, lagoons full of tropical fish and the famous Vallée de Mai, a protected natural site recognized by UNESCO.

Day 6 – Arrival in Praslin and Relaxation

Welcome to Praslin! After your transfer from Mahé, take the time to settle into your accommodation and enjoy this first day to relax and get familiar with the island.

Because yes, a three-week trip to Seychelles is also made for this: enjoying simple moments, with no schedule, just the pleasure of being there 😎

Stroll along the nearest beach, listen to the sound of the waves, dive into the turquoise water… in short, savor your first hours in Praslin in full relaxation mode 🙂

Seychelles beach
Praslin, a must-see destination during a 3-week trip to Seychelles

Day 7 – Vallée de Mai + Anse Lazio Beach

For your first real day of exploration in Praslin, discover the island’s natural treasure: Vallée de Mai.

Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, this reserve is home to a rare primeval forest, where the famous coco de mer palms grow. These huge nuts are one of the great symbols of Seychelles.

The trail is easy to access and well marked: allow around 1.5 to 2 hours to walk around at a relaxed pace. You’ll move through lush vegetation, with giant palms, ferns and endemic birds, including the Seychelles black parrot, found only in Praslin.

📝 Practical info

  • Entrance ticket: 450 SCR per person, around €25
  • Opening hours: 8:30 am to 4:30 pm
  • Guided tours are offered twice a day, usually at 9 am and 2 pm.

My TipI highly recommend visiting Vallée de Mai with a guide: not only will you learn lots of anecdotes about this ancient forest, but you’ll also discover little wonders you might not notice at first glance, such as endemic birds or camouflaged reptiles.

Book your guide for Vallée de Mai now by clicking below, with pickup from your accommodation included:

Vallée de Mai Praslin Seychelles
Vallée de Mai, a green sanctuary on Praslin Island, Seychelles

In the afternoon, head to the legendary Anse Lazio, often ranked among the most beautiful beaches in the world.

You’ll reach it in about 30 minutes by car from Vallée de Mai.

With its pristine white sand, granite boulders and turquoise water, it’s truly stunning. It’s also a dream spot for snorkeling!

My TipIf you still have a little energy, or simply want to extend the day with something other than lying on the sand, go and discover the trail connecting Anse Lazio to Anse Georgette.

The walk takes around 45 minutes, with beautiful views over the bay along the way.

The starting point is just at the top of Anse Lazio car park. At the end, you’ll reach Anse Georgette, a stunning wild beach.

My TipYou can also combine Vallée de Mai + Anse Lazio on a guided excursion.

The advantage is that you don’t have to worry about the route — you just let yourself be guided 🙂 And you’ll also learn lots of stories about the places you visit.

This guided day trip also includes a stop at Côte d’Or Beach.

Day 8 – Boat Trip to Curieuse and Saint Pierre Islands

During a 3-week trip to Seychelles, you really shouldn’t miss the excursion to Curieuse and Saint Pierre islands!

It’s one of the most beautiful boat trips to do from Praslin, and clearly one of my favorites. I really recommend including it in your itinerary!

The excursion usually lasts the full day, with lunch included.

After boarding in the morning and enjoying a short crossing, you’ll first approach Saint Pierre Islet.

This tiny island is surrounded by crystal-clear water and is known as an exceptional snorkeling spot.

With your mask and snorkel, you’ll have plenty of time to admire the underwater life here. You can even often spot turtles! 🤩

The trip then continues to Curieuse, a small protected island belonging to the marine national park. Here, the stars are the Aldabra giant tortoises, which you can observe roaming freely, especially near Anse Laraie.

Also to see on Curieuse Island:

  • the remains of an old hospital transformed into a museum
  • a trail through the mangrove

You’ll enjoy a Creole barbecue on the beach, then have some free time on the island before returning to Praslin in the mid or late afternoon.

This excursion is very popular, so book it without waiting by clicking below:

Day 9 – Mont Plaisir Hike to Anse Georgette + Anse Volbert Beach

For day 9 of your 21 days in Seychelles, I suggest a beautiful hike to Anse Georgette, one of the most spectacular beaches in Praslin.

Leave as early as possible in the morning to avoid the heat. The trail starts right opposite the Mont Plaisir Upper bus stop, in the northwest of the island. There are a few parking spaces nearby.

The route is technical in places, with climbs and descents, and a total elevation gain of around 260 m if you do the round trip by the trail. Bring good shoes, plenty of water and sunscreen, as much of the path is exposed to the sun.

The trail is very well marked and offers breathtaking viewpoints over the hills and ocean throughout the walk. Allow around 1.5 hours to reach the beach.

At the end, you’ll discover Anse Georgette, a little wild paradise with pristine white sand and turquoise water.

My TipFor the return, you can either take the same trail back or go down through the Lemuria hotel estate, which is easier.

In the afternoon, head to Côte d’Or Beach, on the east coast, better known as Anse Volbert. It takes about 30 minutes to get there from Anse Georgette.

With its soft sand and calm waters, Anse Volbert is the ideal place to relax after the morning hike and enjoy a lovely moment of Seychelles-style downtime.

If you like to stay active, water activities such as kayaking and paddleboarding are available.

My TipAlong this beach, you’ll also find a few nice places to eat with your feet in the sand.

I recommend Leo’s Food Bus for street food, and Le Saint-Pierre for a more refined meal with ocean views.

Day 10 – Cousin Island Excursion or Fond Ferdinand Nature Reserve

For nature and bird lovers, a trip to Cousin Island is a must during a 3-week trip to Seychelles.

Accessible by boat from Praslin, this small protected island is a true bird sanctuary, where you can admire impressive colonies of terns and noddies, as well as rare species such as the Seychelles warbler and the hawksbill turtle.

As the island is strictly protected, it can only be accessed through organized excursions, for example with Angel Tours.

Departure is at 9:30 am from Grand Anse Beach in Praslin, aboard a small shuttle boat that takes you directly to Cousin Island, about 15 minutes away.

Once there, the excursion mainly takes the form of a guided visit led by the island’s rangers, in English or French. They’ll introduce you to the diversity of land and seabirds nesting on this protected little paradise.

boat Cousin Island Praslin Seychelles
Boat trip to Cousin Island, a great thing to do during your 3 weeks in Seychelles

Another option for this last day in Praslin is visiting Fond Ferdinand Nature Reserve.

Less famous than Vallée de Mai, this nature reserve is just as beautiful and often much quieter! Here too, you’ll explore a lush tropical forest filled with endemic plants, such as coco de mer palms, orchids, medicinal plants and fruit trees, as well as rare animals including the Seychelles black parrot, fruit bats and land tortoises.

The main hiking trail is a little demanding, but your efforts are rewarded at the top with a 360° panorama over Praslin, La Digue and Curieuse.

There are several possible routes suitable for different levels.

Entrance costs around 300 rupees per adult, about €16, and guided tours are offered daily, usually at 9:30 am, 11 am and 2 pm.

To save time, book your guided visit to Fond Ferdinand Nature Reserve now by clicking below:

My TipWhen leaving the reserve, don’t miss the small wild beach of Anse Marie Louise, located just opposite. It’s often deserted and definitely worth lingering for a while!

To save you time searching for accommodation, I’ve selected the best places to stay in Praslin, from the most affordable to the most luxurious:

Step 3: La Digue (5 Days)

Time for the third step of your 3-week Seychelles vacation!

Now I suggest leaving Praslin to discover La Digue, the third inhabited island of the archipelago, and the one with, in my opinion, the most charm.

On La Digue, you feel like you’ve gone back in time. Here, there are no big roads or huge resorts. You get around almost exclusively by bicycle, and life follows a slow, peaceful rhythm. Everything feels calm, simple and deeply refreshing.

I recommend staying here for 5 full days to make the most of this little paradise.

Day 11 – Arrival in La Digue

After your first days on Mahé and Praslin, it’s time to head to La Digue, the most picturesque island in Seychelles.

The ferry crossing is quick: only 15 minutes from Praslin.

Once you arrive at the harbor, pick up your bicycles from one of the rental shops, then take the time to settle quietly into your accommodation.

Enjoy the rest of the day to explore the surroundings or simply relax on the nearest beach.

This is the perfect moment to soak up La Digue’s slow rhythm before starting the next days of sightseeing!

Day 12 – Bike Ride to L’Union Estate + Anse Source d’Argent Beach

On La Digue, cycling is the norm. So hop on your bike for this 12th day of your Seychelles vacation 🙂

Start the day with a visit to L’Union Estate Park, a large historical estate that gives you a glimpse into the island’s agricultural and cultural past.

You’ll see:

  • old vanilla and coconut plantations
  • an old colonial house called Plantation House
  • an old copra mill
  • giant tortoises wandering peacefully

Entrance costs 150 SCR, about €10, and the site is perfectly bike-friendly.

Then continue along the path leading to Anse Source d’Argent, the most famous beach in Seychelles, and possibly even in the world.

This beach looks like a movie set, with polished granite boulders, coconut trees, pristine white sand and a turquoise lagoon.

My TipJust before the path leading to Anse Source d’Argent, near the bicycle parking area, I recommend stopping at Lanbousir Restaurant.

This little tin-roofed beach shack with wooden tables is a true local institution. You can enjoy simple and tasty Creole food, served by lovely women from La Digue, all at very reasonable prices.

If you still have time and strength in your legs later in the day, I recommend heading back toward La Digue harbor, then following the coast toward the northern tip of the island to discover two more beautiful beaches: Anse Sévère, then Anse Patate a little further on.

Anse Source d'Argent beach Seychelles
Anse Source d’Argent, the iconic beach of Seychelles

Day 13 – Discover La Digue’s Wild South: Anse Marron Excursion

For day 13 of your 3 weeks in Seychelles, I suggest going on a real off-the-beaten-path adventure with the Anse Marron hike.

Anse Marron, at the very south of La Digue, is probably one of the most spectacular beaches in Seychelles. But be careful: the trail is not marked and includes slippery rocks and sections through the water. So hiring an experienced local guide is essential for this excursion. You can book your guide directly by clicking here!

The meeting point is usually near the entrance to Union Park, then a vehicle transfer takes you to Grand Anse Beach, where the walking part begins.

The trail follows the coast, crossing granite rocks, mangroves and small streams, in a very quiet and truly wild area.

After a few hours of walking, you’ll reach Anse Marron, where you’ll have time to relax, take photos and admire the incredible scenery. The guide will have prepared a light lunch for you, usually fruit and snacks, included in the excursion.

After Anse Marron, the hike continues to other secret beaches: Anse aux Cèdres and Anse Pierrot, before ending at the legendary Anse Source d’Argent.

It’s physical and adventurous, with several steep and slippery passages, but your guide will keep you safe at every step. By choosing this outing, you’ll experience a unique moment far from the crowds, in the heart of untouched nature.

My TipBring proper hiking shoes, or at least closed sneakers — flip-flops are a very bad idea — and plenty of water, at least 1.5 liters.

Anse Marron La Digue Seychelles

Day 14 – Cruise to Sister, Félicité and Coco Islands

To continue this 3-week Seychelles itinerary, here is a sea excursion you shouldn’t miss from La Digue: the cruise to Sister, Coco and Félicité islands.

A relaxing day awaits, with this full-day boat trip to small wild islands located just a few minutes from La Digue:

  • Sister Island, or Grande Sœur: known for its white-sand beaches and transparent water. It’s a dream spot for swimming and photos.
  • Félicité Island: wilder, with spectacular granite landscapes and lush vegetation. This is also where you’ll find the luxury Six Senses resort.
  • Coco Island: tiny but magical, a real natural aquarium! With your mask and snorkel, you’ll probably see parrotfish, blue surgeonfish and perhaps a few sea turtles.

On the program for this organized cruise:

  • snorkeling in turquoise lagoons
  • observing colorful fish
  • relaxing on dream beaches
  • barbecue lunch on board the catamaran

Day 15 – Nid d’Aigle Hike + Veuve Reserve

For your last day on La Digue, I suggest gaining a little height with the hike up to Nid d’Aigle, the island’s highest point at 333 m. A beautiful walk to end your stay on a high note!

The starting point is in the center of the island, following the path marked “Belle Vue”, or directly from the road climbing inland.

Allow 1.5 to 2 hours uphill, depending on your pace. The trail winds through lush vegetation, with a few slightly steep sections, but nothing impossible.

Along the way, you’ll reach Belle Vue Snack, a small terrace perched above the island with a breathtaking ocean view. It’s the perfect place to catch your breath over a fresh fruit juice!

Continue a little further and you’ll reach the top, with a magnificent panorama over La Digue, Praslin, Félicité and the surrounding islands.

In the afternoon, if you still have time, visit the Veuve Reserve, a small nature reserve created to protect the Seychelles paradise flycatcher, locally called the “veuve”. It’s a peaceful and easy visit, ideal for seeing another side of La Digue before leaving the island.

My TipStart the Nid d’Aigle hike early in the morning to avoid the heat, and bring enough water. Even if the hike is not very long, the tropical climate can make it feel tougher.

Where to Stay in La Digue?

La Digue is small, and you can get around easily by bike, so you can stay almost anywhere on the island.

The atmosphere here is mostly about small local places: guesthouses, rentals and family-run hotels.

Here is my selection of the best places to stay in La Digue:

Kot Babi Guesthouse

A family guesthouse close to the harbor and Anse La Réunion, with a relaxed atmosphere, simple but comfortable rooms, homemade breakfast and a lovely tropical garden.

Price: From around €90 per night.

La Digue Holiday Villa

An independent villa in the heart of the island, with an equipped kitchen, a large terrace and a lush garden. Perfect if you want space, comfort and independence.

Price: From around €225 per night.

Le Repaire Boutique Hotel

A beautiful boutique hotel with elegant decor, a peaceful setting and a well-known Italian restaurant. Great if you want comfort, charm and a slightly more polished atmosphere.

Price: From around €300 per night for two.

Le Domaine de l’Orangeraie

The luxury address on the island: elegant villas set in a tropical garden, a beautiful spa, a sea-view restaurant… Some suites even have a private pool.

Price: From €640 per night.

Visiting Seychelles in 3 Weeks – Step 4: Back to Mahé (3 Days)

Spending 3 weeks in Seychelles gives you enough time to explore the islands in depth. That’s why I suggest returning to Mahé for 3 days, because there’s still more to see!

There are still quite a few beautiful places to discover, and it will also make a smooth transition toward the final step of this trip: one last escape to the wild island of Silhouette, accessible from Mahé.

Day 16 – Port Launay

On the morning of day 16, leave La Digue and return to Mahé. You’ll see that the island really deserves a second visit, with plenty of beautiful places still to discover.

For this day, go to Port Launay, one of the most beautiful beaches in Mahé and a real favorite of mine. It’s located in the northwest of the island, in front of the Constance Ephelia hotel, but the beach is open to everyone.

If you love crystal-clear water and postcard-perfect scenery — and honestly, who doesn’t? 😅 — you’re in for a treat. It’s the perfect spot for a chilled day: towel, palm trees, calm swimming… the dream!

The lagoon is calm and the water is shallow, making it ideal if you’re traveling to Seychelles with children and looking for a family-friendly beach.

My TipI recommend bringing your mask and snorkel. Along the rocks, you can observe a lovely little underwater world: butterflyfish, damselfish, and sometimes even turtles.

After this calm day, head back to your accommodation in Mahé for a quiet and relaxing evening.

Day 17 – Morne Seychellois National Park

Morne Seychellois National Park is one of the must-see places during a 3-week trip to Seychelles.

So for this 17th day, I suggest spending half a day there!

This vast nature reserve covers more than 20% of Mahé, with 3,000 hectares of preserved tropical forest.

Put on good walking shoes and get ready to explore the green lung of Seychelles. Several hiking trails are available:

  • Copolia Trail – Duration: 1h45 round trip – Level: easy – The climb is gradual, and the final view over Victoria, the surrounding islets and the entire east coast is simply stunning.
  • Morne Blanc Trail – Duration: 2 hours round trip – Level: intermediate – The path crosses a misty, humid forest before reaching a platform overlooking the entire west coast. The panorama is definitely worth the climb.
  • Trois Frères Trail – Duration: 1h30 round trip – Level: easy – The shortest trail, with a lovely view over Victoria and the surrounding area at the end.
  • Morne Seychellois summit hike (905 m) – Duration: 6 to 7 hours round trip – Level: challenging – The climb to the highest peak on the island, reserved for experienced hikers.

My Tip

Go with a local guide for a more relaxed experience, while learning plenty of things about the flora and fauna during the hike.

Day 18 – Sainte Anne Marine Park Excursion

This is your very last day in Mahé. So to say goodbye in style, I suggest spending the day in Sainte Anne Marine Park.

To get there, you need to take a water taxi from Mahé harbor. But the best option is still to join a full-day organized cruise, so you can really enjoy the experience and access the most beautiful spots in the marine park.

Most excursions include several snorkeling stops around Sainte Anne, Moyenne, Longue and Cerf islands, as well as a lunch stop on Moyenne Island.

Underwater, the show is fascinating: schools of tropical fish, colorful coral, sometimes turtles… and, with a bit of luck, a few dolphins passing by.

If you do scuba diving, the site is especially impressive with its underwater landscapes. And even with simple snorkeling, the amount of marine life you can observe is amazing.

I tried the Sainte Anne catamaran tour with Creole Travel, and I recommend it.

On the program:

  • cruise around the marine park islands, with explanations from the guide
  • several snorkeling stops in the best spots
  • Creole lunch on board
  • stop on Moyenne Island and meeting the giant tortoises that roam freely there
  • free time on the island

There are also other excursions in Sainte Anne Marine Park if you want a different experience, such as a glass-bottom boat trip, a transparent boat tour or a semi-submarine outing.

Step 5 – Escape to Silhouette Island

I suggest ending this 3-week Seychelles itinerary with a timeless little escape: 3 days on Silhouette Island.

Silhouette is a truly special island in Seychelles: it’s wild, sparsely inhabited, with only about 200 residents, one main hotel — the Hilton Labriz — and untouched nature.

And there are no cars here! You get around on foot, by bike or using the hotel buggies.

If you like exclusive experiences, Silhouette is the perfect escape to end this beautiful trip.

Day 19 – Arrival on Silhouette

To reach Silhouette from Mahé, you have two options:

  • boat, about a 45-minute crossing
  • helicopter, around 15 minutes

In both cases, the transfer should be booked directly with your accommodation on the island.

Once you arrive, you can settle into your hotel, then explore the small village of La Passe, with its Creole houses, church and peaceful atmosphere.

In La Passe, you can also see the Dauban family mausoleum. The Dauban family owned the island in the 19th century and played an important role in Silhouette’s history, especially through vanilla and copra production.

Other places to see in the area:

  • the Tortoise Sanctuary, a sanctuary for Seychelles giant tortoises, also known as Aldabra tortoises
  • the Island Conservation Society center, where you can learn more about efforts to protect the island’s endemic birds and unique ecosystems.

End this first day on your hotel beach to unwind and enjoy the crystal-clear lagoon.

Day 20 – Hiking on Silhouette Island

Today, it’s time for adventure! Silhouette is a paradise for hikers, with immersive trails through dense, lush jungle.

All trails on Silhouette start from La Passe, the small main village. At your hotel, you can ask to be accompanied by a local guide. I strongly recommend it, both for safety and to learn plenty of things during the walk.

I recommend choosing one of these 3 routes:

Option 1: Mont Dauban (about 5 hours round trip)

This is the island’s highest point, at 740 m. The trail crosses beautiful tropical vegetation and offers, once at the top, an absolutely incredible panoramic view over Silhouette and the surrounding islands. If you enjoy challenging hikes, it’s a must.

Option 2: Anse Mondon (about 3 hours round trip)

A more accessible alternative leading to a secluded postcard-perfect beach. It’s ideal for snorkeling and swimming, with often many fish around the rocks.

Option 3: Grand Barbe (about 4 hours round trip)

A fabulous hike crossing the interior of the island and leading to a wild beach where sea turtles come to lay their eggs. The trail is fairly difficult and not always marked, which is why you should absolutely take a guide.

Day 21 – Silhouette’s Most Beautiful Beaches and Return

For this last day of your 21 days in Seychelles, I suggest a beach day to enjoy the sun, fine sand and turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean one last time before heading home!

The most beautiful beaches on Silhouette to discover:

Anse Mondon Beach

If you didn’t do it the day before, Anse Mondon is a magnificent secret and wild beach — but you have to earn it! Allow around 2 hours of walking from Baie Cipailles, with about 400 m of elevation gain over 3 km of trail, sometimes steep.

The trail starts at the end of Baie Cipailles Beach, accessible either by crossing the Hilton Labriz, or by walking along Anse La Passe Beach at low tide.

Along the way, signs will guide you every 500 m. Bring good shoes, water and a bit of energy: the reward is an almost deserted beach with breathtaking beauty.

Anse Patate Beach

There is total peace on this secluded beach bordered by mangroves. Only guests from the nearby hotels, La Belle Tortue and Hilton Labriz, usually go there.

Anse Patate is located on the southeast coast, near Anse Lascars, and is easy to reach on foot.

My TipBe careful: the water is deep, and swimming is not recommended except at low tide.

Anse Lascars

This preserved beach is protected by rocks and is often deserted. It will make you feel like a real Robinson Crusoe.

Access is easy on foot from La Passe. In addition to its postcard-perfect natural scenery, around thirty old sailors’ graves can still be seen there.

The sea is rough here, especially at high tide. It’s therefore ideal for admiring the landscape, but not for swimming.

After this beautiful day of adventure by the ocean, you can return to Mahé for your flight home!

Where to Stay on Silhouette in Seychelles?

Silhouette remains one of the most preserved islands in Seychelles, and this is reflected in its hotel offering. Here, there are only two places to stay:

Set between jungle and beach, this resort offers superb villas, some with private pools, a spa and several high-end restaurants. It’s ideal if you dream of a luxury escape with all the comfort and services of a prestigious hotel.

FAQ – 3 weeks in Seychelles

The best 3-week Seychelles itinerary includes several days on Mahé, Praslin and La Digue, plus a few days on Silhouette Island for a more exclusive and peaceful experience. This gives you the perfect mix of famous beaches, nature reserves, hiking trails, snorkeling spots, boat excursions and quiet island time. To make planning easier, you can simply follow the detailed day-by-day itinerary shared in this guide.

In 3 weeks in Seychelles, you can comfortably visit the 3 main islands: Mahé, Praslin, La Digue. And you can add short trips to smaller islands such as Silhouette, Félicité, Saint Denis or Bird Island. + day cruise trips to islets such as Curieuse, Saint Pierre, Cousin Island, Coco Island, Sister Islands.

Yes, renting a car is highly recommended on Mahé and Praslin, as it gives you much more freedom to explore beaches, viewpoints, hiking trails and local villages at your own pace. On La Digue, you don’t need a car because the island is small and most travelers get around by bicycle. On Silhouette Island, transfers and transportation are usually handled by your hotel.

Yes, Seychelles can be an expensive destination, especially for accommodation, inter-island transfers and organized excursions. However, you can manage your budget by mixing guesthouses, self-catering apartments and a few special hotel stays, booking ferries and activities in advance, and choosing some free beach or hiking days between paid excursions.
